The Mill

Gregg Lipton Furniture is located in Cumberland, Maine in an 1860s lumber mill. The mill operated until the1940s when it was sold and renovated into a rustic summer home. In 1990 we bought it, winterized it, moved in the shop, and built a small showroom and office. On a hot day, the swimming in the mill pond is great. In the winter, we have great pond hockey happening.


People ask me all the time, ‘How did you get to Maine? Can you really make a living doing this?’ Basically I just rolled up my sleeves and got to work. I love the materials. And I love this old mill where we’ve set up shop.
